This weekend was our monthly Stamp, Play and Create. class Our theme for this class was Gift Giving Ideas. I really give these projects alot of thought because I look for things that are quick, easy and inexpensive to do. Sometimes that can be a challenge, but I think I succeeded on all four projects.I'm going to share with you my favorite one (shhh .. don't tell the other projects, they might get jealous)!!!!
This project is made from the Clear Sizzix Scallop Square Die which forms the bottom layer for our photo frame. Then I layered DSP (designer series paper) onto Ruby Red cardstock and Sahara Sand cardstock onto the DSP. The DSP is from the Holiday Lounge Designer Series Paper and has a cool retro feel to it. I'm re-living the 70's all over again! In the lower right corner I used the Delightful Ornaments stamp set and Ornament punch to embellish the frame. The back stand folds up so you can put it in an envelope and send it in the mail! Just think, you could make a set - one for each holiday and give it for a gift!
I hope you enjoyed your weekend. Mine was awesome because I was stamping, playing and creating with you!
Sometimes it seems weird to plan too far in advance, but in my stamping life, it is a necessity. I function much better with a plan! Do you ever see projects that someone else has created and think - why couldn't I have thought of that!! I'll share with you that I probably have this thought at least once a day. People are so creative and one of the things that I find the most amazing about stampers is the love to share! Stampers want everyone to stamp and create - maybe it's because we know how wonderful and therapeutic it is. I always say that I'd rather spend 100's of dollars on stamps than a therapist -- he he!!! Stamping is my therapy and helps keeps me sane (well, as sane as one would expect).
Anyway, I found this project on MY STAMPIN' UP! WEBSITE (he he) and love, love, love it!!! This was created using the Christmas Jingle Simply Scrappin' Kit!! I did have a class recently where we made standard size cards with the kit. Here you make 3" x 6" cards (you get four out of a sheet of 12" x 12" cardstock). But, see what the cards are in? The Fancy Favor box created using the Fancy Favor Stampin' Up! die for the Big Shot. Is that too cool or what!!!!! Click here for a list of supplies used to create this project. And, just think, you can do this with any Simply Scrappin' Kits! Caution - once your start, you'll find it hard to stop! Creating with Simply Scrappin' Kits are addictive!!!
I was sad to see this weekend end because it was so relaxing and I was able to do some of my favorite things!! I love it every year when we get to set the clocks back. There is nothing like an extra hour on a Sunday! Mickey and I try to go out to breakfast every Sunday morning and we figured our local hangout would be busy earlier than normal, but they weren't! Then it dawned on us that Halloween was the night before and many people were probably at parties or enjoying the Trick or Treating with their children ... and the sugar-high children when they came home from Trick or Treating ... that they slept in! Hey, it's your extra hour - I hope you did exactly with it what you wanted to!
On Saturday, I prepared for the upcoming Stamp-A-Stack which is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2009. We will be making 10 cards (six of which will be Christmas card as requested by you) with envelopes for only $15.00. Please let me know if you would like to attend!!
On Sunday, I prepared for next weekend's Stamp, Play and Create with some gift giving ideas. I really can't wait to share them with you! We have three sessions - Saturday, Nov. 7 at 10 am or 2 pm and Sunday at 2 pm. If you would like to come, please let me know!!
Now, after I finished my tasks yesterday, I had a ton of 3" x 11" strips of cardstock and just hated to trash them, so I didn't. Yes, I do toss a lot of scraps only because with all the cardstock I cut, I become overwhelmed with scraps -- they try to take over my life!! So, I made a bunch of 3" x 3" note cards for Christmas as shown above. After I took the pictures, I also decided to stamp the insides .. I'll share that in my next post!
I hope you were able to treat yourself to some "me" time this weekend! Have a wonderful Monday!!!
p.s. Come back tonight to see my updated schedule in the right sidebar!!!
I'm so fortunate that my boss has an elementary age child and that he's so photogenic, because I experiment and create with him! That rocks!!! Today I tried to do a little movie of a two page scrapbook page with music, so I'm going to see if this works!!! Keep your fingers crossed!!!!
Oh gosh, this is soooooooo cool! I just uploaded it and it actually works!!! Now, that it worked, I did this through My Digital Studio. Of course, you can have a lot more pages if you want, but love how the music plays along. You can also download in on a DVD to share with your family and friends!!!
Make Stampin' Up! your one-stop shop for all the special people in your life!
Use the Holiday Extravaganza Gift-Giving Guide to find gifts for kids, teens, neighbors, card makers, scrapbookers, and more--or to find the supplies you need to create special handcrafted gifts.
I've made it to another Friday - oh gosh, Friday's are my absolutely favorite days of the week!!! I got to sleep in a little bit and have a Pedicure this morning (if you've never had one, you should!!) and then off to run errands and the sun is shining!! Woo hoo!!!
So, before I get on with my day, I always do some computer surfing and visited my Stampin' Up! Website. Yes , even I do that to see what I've posted - he he!!! That sounds kind of weird, right? Well, let me explain. My Stampin' Up! website contains content that I put in the website, along with content directly from Stampin' Up! With both of us working together, we can bring you the most current information as well as an assortment of projects using all types of Stampin' Up! products! I really love it!! So, I'm looking in my Creative Projects section and they have posted this adorable Place Card! You know I love it especially because it uses one of my favorite DSP's - Autumn Meadows! I think I need to stock up on that paper for sure!!! This is such a great idea! To view the products used in this project, CLICK HERE!
I hope you have a wonderful and enjoyable day. An update on Darci - she had her stitches out yesterday and she's not supposed to be jumping around - yeah, right!!! She's so back to normal and Dugan is thrilled to have this playmate feeling much better!!!
Just a few more days until the Goblins come out and trick or treat. I still remember being a young kid and getting a pillow case and making two or three trips through the neighborhood getting tons of candy, then mom going through it before we could eat any. I'm sadden that some of the freedom we had back in the 60's is gone, but glad that trick and treating is still around! I will say that there is some stigma in my neighborhood where people do not put on their porch lights, so we do not have may trick or treaters - what's up with that! They really miss out because the kids are too cute in their costumes!
Last night, I made these treat holders for my boss's son's Halloween Party at school. He's in first grade and I look forward to all his events so I can make treats!!! I probably get more fun out of it then he does, but that's okay. Now, all they have to do it put in the candy and hand out the treats at the party! I used the Sweet Treat Cups along with the Sweet Centers stamp set - they go together perfectly!
Hope you enjoy the upcoming Halloween event - relax and enjoy it - and I hope you gets lots of trick or treaters!!
If you were a hostess in 2008, you are entitled to the 2009 November Hostess Special which is . . . . with a $50 purchase, you get a FREE roll of 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon!! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!
