You Rock!

How many times does that come out of my mouth?  Alot!  It's one of my favorite sayings.  I was thrilled when Stampin' Up! introduced the You Rock single stamp.   This is one of the cards we did in August at Stamp, Play and Create:

It seems here of late I've been into a "white mode".  It's funny how trends change because there was a time when I couldn't stand any excessive white space on my projects!  After I stamped the rocking chair, I knew I had to pull out the Hardwood stamp so with a little masking technique, I created the floor!  If you haven't used the Hardwood Background stamp, you'll be stunned at how realistic it looks!  Totally love it - it .. well, it rocks!!!

Here are the products and measurements:

You Rock Stamp Set
Hardwood Stamp Set
Early Expresso Ink
Hello Honey Ink
Whisper White Cardstock 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" (scored @ 4-1/4"); 5" x 3-3/4"
Hello Honey Cardstock 5-1/8" x 3-7/8"
Sequins
1/8" Mini Brads
Dimensionals
Paper Piercer
Piercing Mat

A Week Hiatus - Glad I'm Back

The last week has been, well, very tumultuous.  The week before, our sweet Darci was a little under the weather and last Friday when I took her to the vet, she was dehydrated.  After taking blood work and getting some fluids, we brought her home, not thinking anything too bad was about to occur.  After a few hours at home, she had some additional symptoms and we took her back to the vet.  They kept her overnight and on Saturday morning we received the news that her kidneys were not functioning properly.  Despite fluids and additional medication, we could not get her kidneys to function as they should and made the decision to put her down, which we did on Monday, August 11.  It is such a difficult decision to make, but to see her not eating and getting weaker, you sort of know when the time has come.  We still have four other felines in the house, one of them is Darci's brother, Dugan, and we love them all so much!  What we have realized this past week is Darci was the life of the bunch!  She was always at the window when we came home begging for her treats - and the other cats reaping the benefits of her meowing!  She was the one who loved to visit the tables while we were stamping and loved to steal the green caps from the Tombow Multiadhesive Glue - everyone knew not to let them lay around or they would be gone!  I bet you I have 20-30 of those caps throughout my house - underneath every crevice she would manage to find!  So, this week has been spent getting our lives back to normal and helping the other cats adjust to the loss of our special girl.

As you can imagine, my creativity bug has been a little dormant.  But, I have an entire table of new product from the Holiday catalog just begging to be used.  My one problem is there is so much, I don't know where to start!!!  Soon, my friends!!!

I'm looking forward to my weekend of stamping with the Brights and Regals stamp clubs and getting back in the groove!!!

Thank you all for letting me share me with you!!!

Happy Stamping,
Phyllis

And I'm Back to Bravo!!!

You know from an earlier post that I associate Bravo with the opera.  Bravo also brings to mind sparkle and glitz!   Check this out . . .

You'll see the combination of the Sequins and Basic Rhinestone Jewels just add the perfect touch of glitz!  I also used the Dotty Angles stamp to create the bottom "dots".  I stamped the image once using Basic Gray ink, then moved the stamp up just a little bit and stamped again without reinking to get the lighter image.  This is calling "stamping off".  The sequins I attached using glue dots.  Simple, yet elegant!

Project List & Measurements:

Basic Gray Cardstock: 11" x 4-1/4" (score @ 5-1/2")
Coastal Cabana Cardstock:  5-1/8" x 3-7/8"

Thankful for EVERY Bit of You!

There is something special about sitting down and stamping with some of my favorite people!  Thank you to all who came out this weekend to Stamp, Play and Create.  While this was the last time for this event (I've been doing it for 12+ years), I am now offering specialized classes, in addition to my normal stamp club and workshops.  If you are interested in learning how to stamp or advancing your own techniques, just CLICK HERE for my class schedule.

This week, I'll be sharing the projects that we made this weekend.  Everyone received a package of the Sequins in the 2013-2015 In Colors.  They are so beautiful in real life!   Here is the card:

I love the way the sequins look in this vellum pocket and truly, Crisp Cantaloupe, is one of my top ten favorite colors of all time!

Below is a list of the items used on this project:

Handheld Stapler (available on 8/28/14)

And yes, I am THANKFUL for every bit of you!

Happy Stamping,
Phyllis
