Looking through the Windows

Have you ever looked at a window sheet and thought - now what can I do with that?   They really are pretty darned versatile - I was even surprised as I prepared for a class two weeks ago.  Thought I would share one of the projects we made  - its bright and springy and for those of you who are tired of the winter - this card just might give you hope that Spring is coming!

Cute, huh!!!   Notice the embossed window sheet?  What we did was mount the strip of designer series paper onto the Pistachio Pudding cardstock.  Then we placed the window sheet on top, put them all into the embossing folder and ran them through the Big Shot!  So cool!!

Smile!!

New stamp set - Petal Potpourri - arrives from UPS (I love them).  What to do?  Go to the 2015 Occasions Stampin' Up! catalog and look for samples.  Here is what I found:

I really loved the look of the Smile card in the lower right corner so I decided to make it.  Did I copy it exactly?  Nope!  In the sample, the Smile image was stitched and there was some embossing on the flower petals.  I wanted something that was a little quicker to make so here is what I created:

Totally thrilled with the end result!  Don't overlook the samples in the catalogs - you can copy them exactly or use them as inspiration.  They are there for you .. and me!!

Four Seasons - All In One Day

Everyone has their favorite season.  I've always been partial to autumn and spring.  Autumn because I absolutely love the colors and the slight chill in the air and spring because it's starting to warm up a little and the flowers and trees are starting to bloom - seems like everything comes alive.  I totally enjoyed creating the four cards at yesterday's class - Exploring the Seasons.  Here is what we created.

Summer

Fall/Autumn

Winter

Spring

Didn't they turn out beautiful?  And, here's another bonus with this stamp set - we used every stamp in the set to create these cards.  Here is a peek at what the same set looks like:

Lovin' the Sheltering Tree

Excited for today to arrive for my Sheltering Tree class.  This is such a great stamp set and really the possibilities are endless (I'm sure you've heard me say that before about many Stampin' Up! stamp sets).  We are exploring the seasons today - winter, spring, summer and fall.  When I was looking through my samples from the Leadership conference last month, I came across this card - perfect for Valentine's Day!

This card combines a heart used as a stencil along with some designer series paper! Did you notice how the words are curved?  Another exciting feature of photopolymer stamps - you can bend them! Absolutely lovely!!!  Hope this gives you another idea for this wonderful stamp set!

Phyllis
