Scrapbooking with Phyllis

Today was one of my favorite classes, Scrapbooking with Phyllis. I love it because I actually get pages done to go in my scrapbook!! I pull pictures from my "picture box" that are usually quite old and I figure eventually I'll get all those pictures scrapped!!! Woo hoo!!!

Above are the pages that we did today. I think these are probably the most versatile pages because they can be used for a heritage album . . . or a beach scene (thanks to Raven, Vicki's daughter, for mentioning they reminded her of the beach!). It all depends on the pictures that you use!

The fee for this class is $15.00. We have a ton of fun during this class and I would love to have you participate! The next class is scheduled for Sunday, May 23. I hope you can come!! You can also purchase these pages from today's class for $15.00 for pickup (plus postage if you would like them mailed). Just click on the link below to order and pay for the pages or contact me by email.

Scallop Circle Memo Board

I had a wonderful weekend with the Bold Brights and Rich Regals Stamp Clubs. We always have such a GREAT time! We made three projects and I'm sharing our 3-D item -- a Scallop Circle Memo Chalkboard!!! Isn't it too cute??

Notice the middle of the memo board??? Did you know that Stampin' Up! makes Decor Elements Chalkboard Sheets which can be cut by the Big Shot? That is what is in the center of the Scallop Circle Memo Chalkboard!!! I love it!!!

Click here for the list of products with item numbers and prices used to create the memo board.

If you have any questions about this project, just ask!

Go Green - Follow Up!

After my last post, I had several people ask me what Sizzix Die I used to create the treat holders. Above is a picture of the Two Tags Stampin' Up! Bigz Die and I used the tag on the left side. All I did was cut out two of the tags, folded at the score line, and overlapped the bottom portion to the tag to create the treat holder. The really are quick to make!!!!

Go Green!!

I always say that I entered the world of stamping too late because my son was in middle school (wow, that was some time ago) and making class treats, well, I think I thoroughly would have embarrassed him. So, I have the next best thing - my boss's son, Patrick, who is in first grade, and I can create goodies for him until my heart's content!! Now, with his name being "Patrick" and his Irish Catholic background, you can imagine that St. Patrick's Day is a big day for him! So, this weekend I made these treat holders and they have green M&M's in small cello bags in the inside. Yummy!!! They were so much fun. If you click on the picture and enlarge it, you'll see there is a little "bling" in the center of the clover. The bling is from the Eggcellent Eggs Kit in the Occasions Mini Catalog. It is such a great kit because it contains all kinds of goodies to decorate Easter eggs!! In the picture below, the "bling" is in the upper right hand corner. I know it's hard to see, but I love them and I'm hoping to see more bling in the new catalog in July.

I hope you survived the spring forward of the clocks. I'll admit it - I'm totally out of kilter and didn't sleep worth a darn, so I'm going to veg out on the sofa tonight!!!! I know it might not be the most productive use of my time, but I feel the need!!! Hopefully, tomorrow will be better!!!

A Treat to Myself!

Can you believe this card? I can't believe I actually did it!! Well, I did!!! Yesterday, I traveled to Mechanicsville, Virginia for a Beginners Class and Advanced Class in brayering and sponging techniques by a Stampin' Up! demonstrator by the name of Michelle Zindorf. She truly is unbelievable in her talent!!! It was nice being the student (and I did try to mind my manners, which we know is so hard for me). She is such a warm and funny lady, and while each class was several hours long, the time went by so quickly!!! I have a lot of practicing to do, that's for sure! But I wanted to share with you my favorite project that we did! It was done with Stampin' Up! stamps, sponges, brayer and classic ink. Go check out Michelle's blog -- she provides tutorials that you won't believe!!!

I hope you enjoy your weekend!!!

Punch Bunny

I am always amazed at the creativity of people. You know those people, they can make something great out of just a few items! On Stampin' Connection (a resource for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators), there have been a ton of bunnies posted using punches. What a great idea!!! So, this past weekend, we made this card using just a few punches. Is he cute or what!!??? While you might not have an Easter stamp set, you can create an Easter project using punches you have on hand!! I've listed below the punches used so you can re-create this cute bunny. I will say that during the first session of Stamp, Play and Create, someone mentioned using googly eyes. WOW!! See creativity!!!! So, I pulled out the googly eyes and we used them at all three workshops. They were too cute!!! I hope your weekend was great and if you have any questions, just let me know!!

Bunny Body: 1-3/4" circle punch
Feet/Ears Outside: Large Oval Punch
Feet/Ears Inside: Small Oval Punch
Cheeks: 1/2" Circle Punch
Nose: 3/16" circle punch from Crop-O-Dile

Being Square Is In!!!!

When I was little, we moved from Bermuda to Norfolk and I attended Northside Junior High School. I was in 8th grade and my favorite class was Home Economics (do they still have that class??). It was my first class of the day and we cooked (and ate) and sewed and did all kinds of things. I remember sewing dresses and skirts and actually wearing them! One of the things I have never done, though, is quilt. I don't know why -- maybe because it takes a while to finish a creation and I'm all into that instant gratification stuff (thus my love for stamping). However, many of my friends do quilt and their work is gorgeous! With the addition of the Big Shot to the Stampin' Up! product line, you can create objects to incorporate into your quilts, such as this beautiful quilt square!! I've seen some amazing works of art using the Big Shot and quilting - literally blows me away! If you click on the picture, you can upload step by step instructions to create this square, including items needed and a pattern. I can't wait to see what you create!!!!
