Unchartered Territory

Good morning to you all!!!! You all know how much I love Fridays because I do not work at my day job. Yes, I do love my day job, there there is something about not having to go into the office on Fridays! Ah, pure joy!!

So, on this glorious day, I wanted to share with you a project made from one of the new stamp sets in the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog entitled "Unchartered Territory". It immediately caught my eye because first of all, I love to watercolor and second, because the images were so simple to watercolor!! Gotta love it!

For the card, I stamped the image onto Watercolor Paper using Jet Black Stazon ink. Then I used by markers and Aqua Painter to color in the image. I'll share with you why I used the markers (but don't tell!!). I was sitting at my table and had my box of markers right next to me. My stamp pads where .. over there ... on the other side of the table. I was so comfortable that I didn't want to get up and thought, hey, I can just scribble on the stamp set case with the marker and then pick up the color from my scribble with my Aqua Painter and color!! See, I saved 1 minute using this technique .. ha ha .. because I didn't have to get up! Sad, but true!!! Hey, it worked beautifully and shows how you can do different things with the same product!!

For the envelope, I stamped the image again with Stazon Jet Black ink and then used Illuminate Top Coat Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink (wow, that's a long name) to color in the image. It's so hard to see in the picture, but it adds the nicest sparkle!! While I had the applicator in my hand, I also applied it over the water on my card front image, as well as the windows in the lighthouse. Again, it doesn't show up in the pictures, but in real life .. WOW!!!

Now, I've also been working on the the inside of my cards so I stamped the lighthouse image using VersaMark ink and then again, colored in with Illuminate Top Coat Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink. I just love this project!!!!

I hope you like today's project. I had an absolute blast creating it!! Now, who should I send it to??????

Have a GREAT stamping day!
