Blissful Wedding Day

I'm excited today to be attending the wedding of Regina and Rob BOYD. See, I've known Regina since she attended Holy Trinity School with Kirk when they were, well, very young! It has been such a delight to watch these guys grow up and experience life. The one thing I remember about Regina is that when she was younger, every time she saw me she always came up with this bubbly personality (that she still has today) and said "Hi, Mrs. Johnson" and smiled! I know that she will continue to go far in her life!! So, you can imagine that when it came to do a wedding card for her, I wanted to do something special. And yes, I love it. I've used quite a few new SU products so I thought I would give you some detailed instructions on what I did!

The background was created using the French Filigree Background stamp. I sponged the Platinum Shimmer Paint onto the stamp and stamped the image. If you click on the picture, you'll see there are little dots accenting the image that are not on the stamp. They were created using the Silver Fox Smooch Pearlized Accent ink and just dabbing it onto the card. It is so pretty.

For this focal image, I stamped it using Basic Black. I colored in the ribbons on the dress using Moonlight Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink. All you do is spread the ink onto the image with the brush that is inside the ink. It spreads so nicely. Then I shaded the creases of the dress with Going Gray Pastels, and colored in the entire dress using Illuminate Top Coat Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink. The Illuminate Top Coat is more translucent than the Moonlight Smooch Ink, so it just adds a nice shimmer to the image. Also, I added a Basic Rhinestone on the flower!!

Of course, I had to decorate the envelope so I stamped the images on the left side of the envelope and sprayed some Silver Foil Smooch Spritz on the side of the envelope. Should I add that her wedding invitations were done in silver, black and white? That is how I picked the colors for the card.

While I'm so excited about today, I'm surely not excited about the triple digit temps forecasted for today and tomorrow! Our June and July have been so hot, I'm only hoping that maybe we'll get a reprieve in August, our usually hottest month of the year! Whatever your plans are for the weekend, enjoy and stay safe and for the demonstrators who will be leaving Salt Lake City this evening and tomorrow, have a wonderful flight home.
