Don't Listen to Weathermen!!

Every winter I anxiously await the arrival of snow because we never seem to get hardly any at all and it is so pretty. My one caveat is that it does not inconvenience me! Isn't that a riot?? Well, last weekend was perfect. I told everyone that it was okay to snow because I didn't have any place I needed to go nor did I have any classes planned. It really was a perfect weekend although the commute to work on Monday and Tuesday left to be desired.

So, alas, I listen to the weather all Friday with the prospects of a Nor'easter and snow. Great (not)! I was so looking forward to a weekend of stamping with you and now this had to come. No, it wasn't convenient for me!! I woke up early on Saturday morning watching the news with stories of flooding, wind, rain and snow. They talked of the roads freezing and well, since I recently had the experience of sliding on the ice, decided to cancel this weekend's classes. I always worry that you might have difficulty traveling and that is the last thing I want. On Saturday, I watched the snow come down so beautifully, but it certainly was not sticking on the roads. I thought, man, I should have had the classes!!! No, I did the right thing. No, the roads aren't even that bad. You know how it is to have those conversations with yourself. Then today, well, despite some ice, was absolutely gorgeous, but since I had already cancelled the class, didn't want to call and put it back on the calendar. So, I did the next best thing - rearranged some other appointments and rescheduled Stamp, Play and Create!

Now, why am I going through this? It is so hard for me to make a decision based on what the weathermen tell me. Some times they are right ... some times they are wrong. But, I will always err on the side of your safety and if there is any chance that driving might be a tad hazardous, I will opt on the side of cancelling the classes. Did I miss them? Oh, you bet! I miss the opportunity to see you, stamp with you and catch up on what's going on! The rescheduled Stamp, Play and Create sessions will be held as follows:

Sunday, February 14, 2010, 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, February 20, 2010, 10:00 a.m.

I hope that you can make it to one of these sessions. The projects that I have planned are awesome!!! Please feel free to email me or call me at 757-587-1005 if you would like to attend.

Next weekend, I also have a Stamp-A-Stack planned for Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. You will make 10 different cards, with envelopes, for only $15.00 (you will need to bring your own adhesive). Since many of you had planned to pay this weekend at Stamp, Play and Create, please just let me know if you will be attending and you can pay next Saturday at class.

I wanted to share another project that I did using all Whisper White card stock. Notice what a difference it makes to take the middle layer of Whisper White card stock and emboss it using the Perfect Polka Dot Impressions Folder and the Big Shot. For the focal image, I used the Happy Moments stamp set, which is one of the stamp sets in the Sale-A-Bration catalog. That means with a purchase of $50.00, you can get this stamp set FREE!! Woo hoo!!!! I stamped the image using Chocolate Chip Craft ink and embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder. Then I colored in the image using a Blender Pen and Watercolor Pencils, then applied Crystal Effects to the image. When watercoloring on Whisper White or Very Vanilla card stock, you cannot use the Aqua Painter. It makes the paper way too wet!!

Below are pictures of some of the products used to create this card. I am so in love with this look. Matter of fact, I'm so in love with it that one of the cards we will be doing at next weekend's Stamp-A-Stack will be very similar! I hope you can make it!!!
