Merry Penguin

Isn't this guy absolutely adorable? I saw this card on someone's blog (I'm sorry, I don't remember who) and thought it was too cute NOT to duplicate! This is one of the projects we did at my sister's workshop here in New York on Saturday. This little guy is made from numerous Stampin' Up! punches. I can just look at him and know he is talking to me. Of course, he says only the things I want to hear, you know what I mean? :-)

New MDS Downloads!!!

Yesterday morning when I checked the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator website, it was announced that there were new digital downloads available for My Digital Studio (MDS). I chuckle when I type MDS because for some reason my mind thinks PMS - I wonder what that's about!!! Oh yes, my demented mind!

Anyway, I immediately downloaded the images and was thrilled with was is available. The new downloads are pictured below with a description, pricing information and item number. Now, you can order these online right now and keep in mind that since they are downloads, you don't pay shipping!! Wreath Making 101

I had seen this wreath made by other demonstrators and thought, shoot, that looks hard - I'll never make a circle! Well, I did -- it was easy!! I was too excited about that! So, last weekend when everyone at the Stamp-A-Stack pulled out this card to do, I heard the same thing that I said! But, after making the card, they said, that wasn't hard at all!

To make the wreath, we used the stamp image (I had NO idea what to call it) and just stamped it in a circle shape. The stamp is from Autumn Days, so you can make a Christmas card from a non-Christmas set! Gotta love that. The berries and greetings are from Berry Christmas in the Holiday Mini.

The moral of this story is when you think you can't duplicate something - try it. Like Mikey - try it, you'll like it! (ha - do you remember what commercial that is from??)

Merry Christmas

This will be a quick post as my computer is not cooperating this morning!! Grrrrr!!!!

Here is another card from this past weekend's Stamp-a-Stack. The Designer Series Paper is from the Christmas Cocoa Specialty Paper - and is flocked!!! It feels so good to the touch and as a bonus - is absolutely gorgeous!!! The stamped image is from the Level 1 FREE hostess set called Holiday Best and fits perfect when punched out with the Ornament Punch. Oh goodness, I so love that punch!!! I'm definitely a punch-a-holic!!!!

Bow Day!

Did you think I would ever post again? Sorry about that - it's been a busy week here in Norfolk with meetings as well as our Nor'easter! Fortunately, we had no damage and did not lose power. We have so much to be thankful for!

On Saturday, Nov. 14, I had a Stamp-A-Stack Class which was too much fun! We made ten cards, six of which were holiday cards. I thought I would share some of them with you this week in case you are still trying to come up with an idea for your holiday cards! This one is really quick and easy, but elegant! The only stamping on this card is the holiday greeting on the designer series paper! And, they even tied a bow!!! I always joke that I only make them tie a bow when I'm feeling mean, but this card was just screaming for a bow, don't you think!!! Love, love, love this!!!!

Photo Frame

This weekend was our monthly Stamp, Play and Create. class Our theme for this class was Gift Giving Ideas. I really give these projects alot of thought because I look for things that are quick, easy and inexpensive to do. Sometimes that can be a challenge, but I think I succeeded on all four projects. I'm going to share with you my favorite one (shhh .. don't tell the other projects, they might get jealous)!!!!

This project is made from the Clear Sizzix Scallop Square Die which forms the bottom layer for our photo frame. Then I layered DSP (designer series paper) onto Ruby Red cardstock and Sahara Sand cardstock onto the DSP. The DSP is from the Holiday Lounge Designer Series Paper and has a cool retro feel to it. I'm re-living the 70's all over again! In the lower right corner I used the Delightful Ornaments stamp set and Ornament punch to embellish the frame. The back stand folds up so you can put it in an envelope and send it in the mail! Just think, you could make a set - one for each holiday and give it for a gift!

Class Descriptions

Stamp, Play and Create:

Come Stamp, Play and Create! We make four exciting projects and have a ton of fun! Class fee is $5.00, but is waived with a $30.00 order.

Technique Class:

This is a new class being offered in 2010. While I am still working out some fine details, basically here’s the scoop. Each class we will make five 6” x 6” pages for your Technique Album. Each page will have step by step instructions for the technique and you will create a sample of the technique to attach to your page. This will be a resource that you will keep forever!

Scrapbooking with Phyllis:

Create two 12" x 12" pages. Class fee is $15.00.

Stamp-A-Stack:

Come and create 10 different cards. Envelopes provided. Class fee is $15.00.

Happy Birthday SSK Scrapbooking Class:

We will be creating 10 12" x 12" scrapbook pages using the Happy Birthday Simply Scrappin' Kit! Class fee is $35.00.
