Congrats with Canvas Cuts

Often when I upload pictures, I look at the pictures and think that they just don't do the project justice! I think this is the case with all the Canvas Cuts projects. The canvas has such a nice texture and when combined with the Fashion District Rub-ons, really adds a unique element to a project. This card was inspired from one that I saw at Leadership. Matter of fact, I changed very little on it! In case you don't recognized the Canvas Cuts, it is the scallop focal point on the card! The rub-on fits perfectly on the Canvas Cuts making it look like you worked really hard to create it. Shhh ... I won't tell! Take notice to the bottom of the card. That is the Printed Kraft paper from the Taste of Textiles specialty paper which is found on pg. 156 in the 2009 Spring Summer IBC. Now, and I think I talked about this in a prior post, I initially couldn't get any rub-on to adhere to the Jumbo Neutral Brad. However, for the class, we applied one of the button rub-ons after sanding down the Jumbo Brad. Amazing how such little things work!!!

Below is a list of the items used and measurements of this card.

Dreams ... du Jour

Today I thought I would take a break from the Canvas Cuts (more tomorrow though) and share with you this card which is a pretty quick card to make AND is absolutely gorgeous! A double bonus, huh!!

I stamped the focal image using Riding Hood Red and used a Blender Pen to pull out the color of the flower right over the word dreams. You can't tell in the picture, but I added some Dazzling Diamond Glitter in the center of the flower which adds that little bling!!! And .. you just have to love that Bella Rose DSP. It's so beautiful!!

Below is a list of items used to create this project:

Stamp Set(s): Dreams du jour, Stems & Silhouettes Jumbo Wheel
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White and Bella Rose DSP
Classic Ink: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black
Other: Blender Pen, Two Way Glue, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Dimensionals, Linen Thread, Mini Glue Dots, Button Bouquet Designer Buttons

It's a chilly day here in Norfolk, but I thought this card might put you in the mood for Spring!!! Hope you have a wonderful day!!

Awesome in Manhattan

Today I'm sharing the third card we created in the Canvas Cuts class. Everything about this card is awesome, don't you think!!! I love how the Manhattan style flower rub-ons worked on the Canvas Cuts oval image. I then added the word "awesome" from the Fashion District rub-ons. The Baja Breeze cardstock is textured using the Background I Texturz Plates and I used the To the Nines Specialty Paper for the bottom portion of the card. I was really impressed with the Baja Breeze Satin Ribbon from the Valet Ribbon Originals pack. It is absolutely gorgeous!! Really I want an entire roll of this stuff!

Below is a list of the items and measurements used in this project.

Hi in the Daisies

I really really was not going to purchase the Daisies Die. Seriously! However, after seeing one card that used this die, I was hooked. Matter of fact, after getting the die, I sat and cut out a bunch of daisies from scrap cardstock and have been just playing with them. Such fun!

This is another card that we did at the Canvas Cuts class. Look in the middle of the flower and you'll see the Canvas Cut with the "hi" rub-on. Too cute, huh! Well, there is a story to this. When planning this class, I wanted to be able to use the rub-ons on the Jumbo Neutral Brads. When I started creating samples, there was no way that rub-on would .. well, rub-on to the brad! What's up with that!!! So, I did the next best thing and attached it with a Dimensional. Some time later, I had a moment when I thought, hey, what if I sanded the Jumbo Brad? Woo hoo, it worked!!! So, during the class, we actually adhered the rub-on to the brad. So, now you know that trick without having to spend too much time figuring it out! To curl the ends of the daisies, I just used a pen to curl them -- it was really quite easy. Below is a list of items and measurements used to create this project.
