Texture Cuts Wood Sheets

I always love getting new products. I order them, can't wait to get them delivered and then just look at them, not knowing what to do with them (one of the reasons I look forward to Convention). Then some creative person comes along (thanks Sandi) and says, did you know you can emboss the new Texture Cuts Wood Sheets? Oh, now this really piqued my curiosity and I couldn't wait to try it. I finally had a chance tonight and boy, it's freakin' amazing!!!! The first thing I did for this card was to run the Wood Sheet through the Big Shot in the Finial Press Embossing Folder. I was truly stunned when I opened the folder and saw the wood sheet!! Who would have thunk it! That was the easy part of this card. It was so pretty, that I just didn't want to cover it up and when I went put something on it, I was covering it up! Hum, so I decided to just use a word image stamp and embellish it with the Soft Suede Dotted Ribbon and the Little Leaves die cut from the Little Leaves Sizzlet (done also in the Soft Suede cardstock). Oh, the words are stamped on Shimmery White cardstock using Soft Suede ink. I was so thrilled with the way this came out. To get a really good look at the card and wood sheet, just click on the picture!!!

Now, I tried to cut a Wood Sheet using the Sizzlet Die and it really didn't cut through the sheet that well, but cuts great through the thicker dies such as the Bigz Dies. You can also stain the Wood Sheet using a sponge and reinker. These are the only things I had a chance to try tonight! I was just so excited that I had to post this card!!!! Oh, let me give you the info on the Wood Sheets:

I hope your weekend was as good as mine ... I had three Stamp, Play and Create classes and they were so much fun!!! One more day at the day job, and I'm off to Salt Lake City!! I really am starting to get excited. You will be seeing a flurry of activity at the Johnson house tomorrow night as I get everything together. I'm a "wait until the last minute" kind of gal so tomorrow night and even Tuesday morning will be busy.
