Stencil Stamping

I know, who would have thunk it!!! Not me for sure. Imagine my surprise when the Decor Elements 3 Catalog was released several months ago and there were stencils in the back. My limited mind thinks only in terms of walls and stencils -- strictly a home decor kind of thing, right? Wrong!

At our Leadership Conference in January, our CEO, Shelli Gardner, demonstrated other things you can do with stencils such as decorating the outside (and inside) of your linen albums! Then she showed us a project where she used the stencils and some type of paste (I have the paste, just haven't had the time to play with it -- I know you can relate, huh). As I watched her demonstration, I couldn't wait to get a stencil and create a card using the stencils! So, at the March Stamp, Play and Create, we created this card!

Now, I have to tell you, this was so quick and easy, it was actually scary! First, we laid the stencil on top of the Whisper White cardstock and sponged Bordering Blue over the stencil. Then, using a Sponge Dauber, we highlighted certain sections using Brocade Blue ink. When we pulled off the stencil, there were many oohs and ahs!!! I did too! The stamped image is from the On Your Birthday set (which rocks!).

You can view the stencils by checking out the Decor Elements catalog - go to page 23. The stencil used in the above card was Kind Thoughts Flourish (small). My next goal is to create a scrapbook page using this stencil! Of course, that time element really gets in my way, ya know??

We are eagerly getting ready for our trip to the sunny island of Hawaii and with this rain for the past five days, frankly, our departure cannot come quick enough! Don't worry though ladies, because I'll be updating my blog while I'm in Hawaii - want to make sure you have some sunshine in your life!!

Lastly, thank you all for your kinds thoughts relating to Reba. We miss her dearly and now I can actually talk about it. Each day gets better and Mia, the princess, is really enjoying having us all to herself and we enjoy her!

Hope you have a great day and HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
