Sympathy with Flower Fancy

Sympathy cards are sometimes difficult to create, many times because of the emotions evoked in doing so. When I heard this past weekend that the mother of one of my friends passed away, I wanted to create a special card for her letting her know that I care. When I sat down to create, I didn't have any colors or stamp sets in mind, but I did know that I wanted to use my Circle Cutter Plus and had a particular layout in mind. So, here is my creation and I really love it!

Believe it or not, my first selection was the Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper that is in the Sale-A-Bration Catalog. I wanted a color to coordinate with Bashful Blue and didn't want to use Basic Black (it was too harsh), so I tried Basic Grey! That was it! I then cut my circles and remembered that I had the Flower Fancy stamp set and hoped it would fit in the circle - hey, it did!!!! The words are from the Always in My Thoughts stamp set -- I needed something to flow with the circle in the focal point of the card and they fit perfectly in the 1-1/4" circle. I'm not sure if you can see it, but the sheet of Bashful Blue cardstock is textured using the Dots Textured Background!

This is the inside of the card and I used the God's Blessing stamp set, along with the Flower Fancy stamp set again. Also, I used Shimmery White cardstock which really is gorgeous on this card.

I am very pleased with the end result of this card and hope that it brings comfort to my friend in this time of loss.

Also, if you would like to see the photo larger, just click on it and it will open in a larger format so you can see the detail!
