Stamp, Play and Create - January 2009

Have you ever sat down at your table and tried to figure out what colors to use to create your card? You start with the cardstock, then pick out some DSP (Designer Series Paper) to coordinate with the cardstock. Okay, so that took 1/2 hour, right? Next time, try this -- select your DSP first! Once you do that, you'll know exactly what colors of cardstock to use because you just use the colors in your DSP! Simple! You might have figured out by now that I'm all about simple! Simple makes things quick and easy.

With this project, I selected the Sweet Always DSP to use. The colors that coordinate with this DSP are Chocolate Chip, Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette and Pumpkin Pie, so I didn't have to think too hard about what colors to use! When we were creating this card at the workshop, I heard many comments about how pretty the pumpkin pie cardstock was in the color combination. Not sure what colors go with your DSP? Don't worry, they are listed in the Idea Book and Catalog! Oh I just love that! Again, Stampin' Up! is making it so I don't have to think!!!!

For the focal image, I used the stamp set "A Happy Heart" which is available until January 18, 2009 and is featured in the Holiday Mini Catalog. This set really contains some adorable stamps so go take a peek at the Holiday Mini and check it out! To embellish the image, I used Two Way Glue and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and put a Pretty in Pink brad in the center of the flower! Do you like the corners of the Whisper White cardstock? They were created using the Ticket Corner Punch.

Now you can go ... stamp, play and create and send someone a special Valentine's greeting!
