Stamp Set: Season of Friendship
Cardstock: Really Rust, More Mustard, Very Vanilla
Ink: Classic: Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard
Other: Crop-O-Dile, Antique Brass Jumbo Eyelets, Linen Thread

Ah, while I switched stamp sets, I’m still using those beautiful fall colors found in the Stampin’ Up! Earth Elements color group. I must admit, this is very similar to a card that I saw on another website and I thought using the jumbo eyelet for a tire was sheer genius! I could have never thought of that! The Season of Friendship is another new set in the Holiday Mini found on page 6. It has other things to stamp on the trees such as a bird and flower, along with a snowflake! While the seasons change, this stamp set will change right with the season!

Autumn Blessings

Stamp Sets: Happy Blessings, Sanded
Cardstock: More Mustard, Really Rust, Pumpkin Pie, Watercolor Paper, Chocolate Chip, Autumn Vine DSP
Ink: Craft Basic Black, Classic: More Mustard, Really Rust and Chocolate Chip
Other: Pumpkin Pie ¼” Grosgrain Ribbon, 1/8” Circle Punch, Cutter Kit, Dimensionals, Crystal Effects, Watercolor Crayons, Aqua Painters, Heat Tool, Clear Embossing Powder

You didn’t think I could stop with just the scarecrow card, now did you? Today, I used another stamp in that awesome set which puts me in the mood for pumpkin pie! Ummmm, nothing like pumpkin pie with whipped cream – makes my mouth water just thinking about it! As in the card posted yesterday, I embossed the image and colored it in using watercolor crayons and the aqua painter. I find it very easy to watercolor when using these two items, along with watercolor paper! You can’t tell on the scan, but I did apply Crystal Effects to the center of the flowers and the pumpkins! Oh, and don’t forget to distress the edges of your cardstock using the distressing tool in the Cutter Kit!!!!

Enjoy this cool (okay, so it's not cool but we can think it) weather – and get in the mood for Fall!!!

Live with Passion

I do love this saying -- Live with Passion -- and I was thrilled when Stampin' Up! incorporated it into the Inspired by Nature Stamp set. I love this card I found on the Stampin Up! website. One of the things I noticed was how they stamped onto the Designer Series Paper using the White Kraft ink. It is really beautiful! For step by step instructions in creating this project, just click here! I'm sure you'll love creating this project! Happy stamping!

It's Been Too Long

Hi everyone!!!!! Yikes, it has been so long since I've updated my blog, I almost forgot how to do it!!! That's just not good.

I do want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during the last few weeks when my dad passed away. I could not have gotten through this time without you!

Then, the end of this past week, we have Tropical Storm Hanna (did anyone catch that Hanna is my maiden name??) anticipated to hit us. So, in an effort to keep everyone safe and dry, I cancelled my September Stamp, Play and Create. As I look back, I don't ever remember cancelling one, well, maybe once when Kirk was in high school and had emergency surgery. Anyhow, I'm going to upload the planned projects and hopefully give you enough instructions to complete the projects. Actually, I love how they turned out and wish we could have made them together!!

Project No. 1 - Thank You!

Stamp Set: Upsy Daisy
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White
Classic Ink: Pretty in Pink, Riding Hood Red, Tangerine Tango
Other: Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, Sponge Daubers
Measurements: Pretty in Pink (3" x 6") folded; Riding Hood Red (2-7/8" x 2-7/8"); Whisper White (2-3/4" x 2-3/4")

This technique was shared with us at convention (actually most of the techniques we learned at convention!) Take your Upsy Daisy flower stamp and using the sponge dauber, dab Pretty in Pink ink over the image, do the same with Tangerine Tango and then with Riding Hood Red. Be sure to use different daubers for each color and just dab -- don't think -- and you will cover the entire image. Also, make it a habit to start with your lightest ink, then work your way to the darkest ink last. Then "huff" on the stamp to remoisten the ink and stamp! You'll love how this comes out!!! I stamped the word phrase using Riding Hood Red ink and my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig (which I can't live without) and adhered the layers!

Project No. 2 - Birthday in Pink

Stamp Set: On Your Birthday
Cardstock/DSP: Pink Pirouette, Bella Rose
Classic Ink: Chocolate Chip
Other: Hidden Garden Rub-Ons, Pop Up Glue Dot, Silver Brads, Crystal Effects, Chunky Glitter - Silver, Crafter's Tool Kit, Scallop Edge Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Linen Thread, Pink Pirouette 1-1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon
Measurements: Pink Pirouette (4-1/4" x 11" folded); scrap for 1" circle, Bella Rose (5-1/2" x 2"), Ribbon (11-1/2"), Linen Thread (11")

I bet you are just staring at this, wondering how in the heck to do this flower! Oh goodness, it really is easy!!!! Take your Pink Pirouette Grosgrain Ribbon and lay it out in front of you, horizontally. Then on the top edge of the ribbon, apply a line of Crystal Effects, then Silver Chunky Glitter. Let this set for 5-10 minutes at least. Then on the bottom part of the ribbon nearest you, using your Linen Thread and needle from Crafters Tool Kit, sew a basting stitch along the bottom edge of the ribbon being sure to tie a knot in the end of the Linen Thread so it doesn't come through. Then you will pull the Linen Thread ends together, which will gather the Pink Pirouette ribbon and tie the Linen Thread together, creating the flower. Got it? To create the center of the flower, take your rub-on from the Hidden Gardens Rub-Ons and apply it to your scrap of Pink Pirouette cardstock. Punch out using the 1" circle punch. Using your paper piercer, punch a hole in the center and insert the silver brad. Adhere this to the top of your flower using a Pop Up Glue Dot. Take your strip of Bella Rose paper, scallop the edge using the Scallop Edge Punch and adhere to the base of the card. Adhere your flower using another Pop Up Glue Dot, then stamp your word phrase. Ah, I just absolutely love this!!!

Project No. 3 - Birthday Wishes

Stamp Sets: Eastern Blooms and Fundamental Phrases
Cardstock: Kiwi Kiss Textured Cardstock, Not Quite Navy and Confetti White
Classic Ink: Kiwi Kiss and Not Quite Navy
Other: Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Button Bouquet Buttons, Linen Thread, Tombow Liquid Glue, Fine Cosmo Glitter Light Blue, Blender Pen, Not Quite Navy Stampin' Write Marker, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig
Measurements: Kiwi Kiss (6" x 6" folded), Not Quite Navy (5-3/4" x 2-3/4"), Confetti White (5-1/2" x 2-1/2")

I sure wish you could see how these flowers sparkle on this card!!! Ah, one day I'm sure their perfect picture taking so you can -- or at least I can learn how to take a better picture, huh! When I learned how to do this technique, I thought it was so cool. I'm sure you are looking at it thinking, what technique is she talking about? Well, check this out! Notice how the branches are Kiwi Kiss, but hey, we don't have a Kiwi Kiss marker, now do we! Ah ha, now I've got you wondering, huh!! Okay, here's how it's done! Ink the complete stamp using Kiwi Kiss ink. Then, using a Blender Pen, "remove" the Kiwi Kiss off of each flower, making sure to wipe the ink you remove after each flower. If you see some residual ink, just wipe it off again with the blender pen. Now, you can color in the flowers with your Not Quite Navy Stampin' Write Marker! Isn't that so cool!!! Okay, to complete the cards, I stamped the words using the Stamp-A-Ma Jig to line them up. I wrapped the Satin Ribbon around the top two layers and tied the button with Linen Thread to the Satin Ribbon. Then using my Tombow Liquid Glue, it put a dab in the center of each flower, then dibbed in in the Light Blue Fine Cosmo Glitter. Woo hoo!!!! Gotta love it.

Card No. 4 - 5-Petal Chrysanthemum

Stamp Set: Smarty Pants
Cardstock: More Mustard, Regal Rose, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla
Classic Ink: Regal Rose, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie
Other: Crafter's Tool Kit, Silver Brad, 5-Petal Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, Color Spritzer Tool, Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker, Sponge Daubers, Dimensionals
Measurements: Pumpkin Pie (5-1/2" x 8-1/2" folded), Regal Rose (5-1/4" x 4"), Very Vanilla (3-3/4" x 5") More Mustard (1/2" x 5")

Isn't this flower just gorgeous!!! Well, I have to tell you, I was searching some blogs lately and went to Stacy King's Blog and found this great tutorial. Be sure to go there, because it will tell you how to create the flower. I did change the colors a bit, but you should be good to go!!! I did apply some More Mustard ink using the Sponge Dauber around the edge of the Very Vanilla cardstock, then applied a nice mist of color using the Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker and Color Spritzer Tool. The flower is adhere with dimensionals.

If you would like a cardstock package, ribbon and button to create these projects, there is a $5.00 fee which includes mailing the package to you! You can place your order online right now using your Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover or Paypal account. You can always feel free to send a check too, however, that will delay the package being mailed to you!
